A Fantastic Day of Rounders for Stud & Stable Staff

The Racing Centre’s annual Stud and Stable Staff Rounders Tournament was a fantastic success, bringing together six yards from across Newmarket for a day of competitive sport, team spirit and plenty of fun.

The tournament took place on Sunday 26th July at The Severals, with teams battling it out throughout the day in what proved to be a closely contested competition.

There was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the tournament, with players, supporters and colleagues enjoying the sunshine and cheering their teams on. The event provided a great opportunity for people from across the racing industry to get together away from the yard and enjoy some friendly competition.

Ed Dunlop’s Crowned Champions

After a series of competitive matches, Ed Dunlop’s and James Fanshawe’s progressed to the final.

The final was a closely fought contest, with both teams battling hard right until the end. In the end, Ed Dunlop’s came out on top, winning 5.5–4.5 rounders to be crowned the 2026 Racing Centre Rounders Tournament champions.

Congratulations to Ed Dunlop’s team on a fantastic performance, and well done to James Fanshawe’s for putting up such a strong fight in the final.

A Huge Thank You

First of all we would like to say a huge thank you to Godolphin for sponsoring the tournament and to all six yards who took part and helped make the tournament such a success. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by everyone involved made it a brilliant day for the racing community.

We would also like to thank everyone who helped organise and run the event, as well as those who came along to support the teams.

Events like this are a great way for the racing community to come together, and we are already looking forward to hosting more sporting events in the future.
