Racing Community Day

Racing Together Community Day to take place on Thursday 25 May 2023. Racing’s national day of volunteering in support of local communities, the Racing Together Community Day, returns on Thursday 25 May 2023, when all those involved in the sport are invited to give their time for good causes.

Newmarket has two planned activities this community day and with a foodbank collection on the day as well as litter picking opportunities in the town. All activities are being coordinated by both The Racing Centre and Jockey Club Estates and individuals and organisations are encouraged to register their details using the link at the bottom of this page.

As part of the foodbank collection, we are asking yards and stakeholders to run a food collection for a week prior to the 25th May and for the collection to be handed over on the 25th at either The Racing Centre or at Newmarket Racecourse Premier Enclosure Entrance. The foodbank is currently in short supply of the following

Food: Tea, coffee, sugar / Tinned soup, meat & vegetables / Cereal

Non-food: Shampoo / Shower gel / Toothpaste / Washing powder

Lucy Gurney, Community Engagement Manager for Racing Together said: “We’re looking forward to this year’s Racing Together Community Day which is set to be the biggest yet. A particular highlight will be the collective efforts of Newmarket’s racing organisations to gather food bank donations and collect litter as part of the initiative.”
