How to set fitness goals

Goal setting can be a really useful tool, whether you’re just starting out or an experienced gym-goer. Setting yourself an aim can help to guide your focus and also help to drastically improve your chances of reaching your desired outcomes.

SMART is a well-established tool that you can use to plan and achieve goals. SMART is an acronym that provides a set of criteria when setting goals and stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound. Our personal trainers can be a great way to kickstart your journey.

How to set and track smart goals

  1. Visual reminder – Create a visual reminder of your goals and progress such as a habit-tracking chart. We have taken the hard work out for you and created a free month-by-month accountability plan, speak to one of our team for your copy
  2. Make time for goal tracking – The key here is consistency, if you don’t make time to focus on health, fitness and nutrition, you will put it off. Schedule in time to reflect on your short and long-term goals
  3. Be flexible – After setting goals you should also track your thoughts and feelings because some actionable steps may need to be changed if you don’t enjoy them
  4. Your community – A support network can strengthen your weight-loss efforts, join our WhatsApp group to stay accountable, with digital support, tips and more! Speak to gym manager Ian to be added to the friendly group.

Whether it’s a weight loss goal or seasonal non-scale victory (having more energy or improving sleep), let us know what you’re wishing for!
