Community pop-up shop returns

Every Thursday, 11:00am, Newmarket Catholic Church (OLISE) CB8 8LT.

A joint community project between The Racing Centre and Newmarket Open Door, in the form of a community shop, is set to return to Newmarket on 15 July to support those in the community with hardship.

The pandemic has highlighted that vulnerability in the community is far more prevalent than first anticipated and that people are requiring support more than ever before.

  • We ask that you shop alone, unless with a carer or children
  • Facemasks are compulsory
  • Social distancing measures will be in place

Who can attend?

The community pop-up shop is for anyone who is in a situation where they need food to other provisions.

How much does it cost?

We charge £2 for a large jute bag and you can help yourselves to any item you require.

Only one bag per household.

What items will be available?

Food like pasta, rice, beans, tinned meat as well as fresh bread and fruit and vegetables.

There will also be products like soap, toothpaste, shampoo, tampons and sanitary products available.

Can you spare time to help do a good deed for others?

If you are able to give your time to such a great cause, email us at reception@theracingcentre.orgv to sign up to volunteer.
